Breaking the Chain of Poverty: Miss Manjira Vasudevan
Sri Murugan Centre proudly celebrates the remarkable journey of Miss Manjira Vasudevan, an alumna of SMC Brickfields (2005–2006 & 2008–2010), who has risen with resilience and determination to serve the nation as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Money Laundering Crimes and Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crimes Unit, Prosecution Division, Attorney General’s Chambers, Putrajaya. Raised by a devoted single mother who worked as a teacher, Manjira’s childhood was marked by both love and hardship. The tragic loss of her father shortly after her PMR placed immense responsibility on her as the eldest child. Yet, instead of giving in to despair, she chose the path of resilience, purpose, and courage. Her turning point came at SMC Brickfields, where she found a nurturing environment that built her self-belief, emphasized the value of education, and instilled in her the drive to pursue her dreams. These formative years at SMC became the foundation for her academic and personal growth. Manjira later pursued her studies abroad, graduating with distinction from Northumbria University, Newcastle, United Kingdom. Today, she stands as a proud testament to perseverance, serving Malaysia with integrity and dedication in one of the nation’s most critical legal divisions. Her journey is a powerful reminder that education is the greatest treasure—a tool to break barriers, uplift families, and transform lives. With determination and strength, no dream is too far to reach. The SMC community takes immense pride in Miss Manjira Vasudevan’s accomplishments. Her story shines as a beacon of hope and courage, inspiring students everywhere to rise above challenges with grace and purpose.
