From Sri Murugan Centre (SMC) to Serving the Nation

The Inspiring Story of Mejar Ts. Jaysharavanan Jayaraman Sri Murugan Centre proudly celebrates the remarkable journey of Mejar Ts. Jaysharavanan Jayaraman, an SMC alumnus whose life story reflects the transformative power of education, discipline, and perseverance. Born and raised in a humble B40 household in Kuala Selangor, Jaysharavanan grew up with his father working as a farmer and his mother serving as an accounts assistant. His path could have easily been limited by circumstance, but everything changed when he stepped into SMC at SJK (T) Vageesar in 2002. “SMC was a major turning point in my life. It taught me what it means to be consistent, to respect time, and to believe in education. The 8–10 PM study hours, the structured notes, the dedicated teachers—SMC shaped who I am today,” he recalls with gratitude. Guided by discipline and determination, Jaysharavanan pursued higher education with passion. He earned his Diploma in Architecture from Politeknik Merlimau and later completed his Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Today, his journey has brought him to a place of great responsibility and honor. As a Staff Officer 2 (Architect) in the Malaysian Armed Forces Engineering Services Division (MATM-BPKP), he serves the nation with dedication, applying his knowledge and skills in service of the country. Jaysharavanan’s story is a shining example of how SMC continues to transform lives—providing not just academic support, but also instilling values of discipline, time management, and self-belief. His achievements stand as an inspiration to every student, proving that no background is too modest and no dream too big when met with consistency and determination.
