Born into a B40 family, Jayaprakash’s father worked as a clerk while his mother cared for the home. Life was far from easy, yet through every challenge he held on to a simple belief: education could change everything. That belief brought him to SMC Kuantan in 1996, where he found guidance, discipline, and inspiration. “SMC gave me more than academic strength. It shaped my potential and helped me discover my purpose,” he reflects. Those formative years laid the foundation for a journey that would take him across borders and into the world of research and service. Years later, Jayaprakash achieved a remarkable milestone—earning his Ph.D. in Chemistry (Atmospheric Science) from the prestigious University of Cambridge. Today, he continues his journey of service as a Principal Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, contributing his expertise toward national development.
